Press the PURE button when playback is stopped or
paused to turn pure mode playback ON and OFF.

After pressing the PURE button during playback, the cur-
rent ON/OFF status will appear for a few seconds before
the display resumes showing its usual contents.

Pure mode

During CD/PCM playback

This turns the digital outputs off and allows you to enjoy
music with the least possible digital noise generated
within the unit.

In this mode, no audio signals are output from the digi-
tal output connectors.

Pure mode playback

During DSD playback

In this mode, DSD data is sent directly to the digital analog
converter without passing through the volume control or
ΔΣ converter.
Use this to enjoy the unaltered original DSD audio.

In pure mode, DSD playback will have an audio output
level that is about 3 dB below ordinary playback.

CAUTION
In this mode, the original DSD audio is output as is with-
out passing through the 50 kHz digital filter. Please use
care to prevent damage to your speakers.
