Auger Gearbox Fluid Change
WARNING!
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following
conditions exist:
• When fluids are under pressure .
• Flying debris or loose material is present .
• Engine is running.
• Tools are being used.
Tip: Fluid such as engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolants, grease, etc. must
be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Some regula-
tions require that certain spills and leaks on the ground must be
cleaned in a specific manner. See local, state and federal regula-
tions for the correct disposal.
WARNING
AVOID BURNS
Gearbox will be hot after operating. Let gearbox cool or use gloves
when servicing.
Change the gearbox oil AFTER THE FIRST 50 HOURS AND EVERY 200 HOURS THEREAFTER.
Place the angle broom on a flat even surface to replace the gearbox oil.
Remove the left side bristles. See page 36.
Place an appropriate size container under the gearbox.
Remove the fill port plug (Item 1) and drain port plug (Item 2) . Allow all the fluid to drain into an appropriate container.
Install and tighten drain plug (Item 2).
NOTE: Only use Polaris Angle Broom Oil in the gear box. Never overfill the gear box. Overfilling can cause excessive heat
resulting in gear box damage.
Add 14 oz (0.414 L) Polaris Angle Broom Oil through the fill port (Item 1).
Tip: Wait approximately two minutes before installing the fill port plug (Item 1). This will allow any excess oil to drain out of the gearbox fill
port.
Install and tighten fill plug (Item 1).
Reinstall the left side bristles. See page 37.
