ITEMS AFFECTING GROUND ELECTRODE RESISTANCE

The soil’s ability to conduct current is dependent on the following:

1.The amount of moisture in the soil
2.The quantity of electrolytes
3.The type of electrolytes
4. Adjacent conductors
5. Temperature
6. Electrode depth
7. Electrode diameter
8. Electrode(s) spacing distance

All these factors must be considered when designing an adequate or required ground system.
