Remove the fuel filter.
Before removing the fuel filter, to
prevent fuel leakage, place fuel
hose clamps on the fuel hoses at
the each side of the fuel filter.

Install the new fuel filter so the
arrow on the fuel filter points
toward the fuel pump.

Fuel flow will be reduced if the
fuel filter is installed backward.

Securely connect the fuel hose
connector to the outboard motor
(refer to page 40 ).

Clean the fuel tank and tank filter if
necessary. It may be necessary to
drain the fuel tank completely and
refill with fresh gasoline.

Connect the fuel hoses to the fuel
filter securely with the hose
clamps. Remove the fuel hose
clamps used to close the fuel hoses.

Prime the engine using the priming
bulb (refer to page 41 ). Check for
fuel leaks.
Repair any fuel leaks.

If loss of power or hard starting is
found to be caused by excessive
water or sediment accumulation in
the fuel filter, inspect the fuel tank.
