Engine Cover Clearance
Inspection

A loose engine cover may rattle or
allow water to enter. Check whether
the engine cover fits properly and
adjust if necessary.

If the clearance is outside the
specified range, adjust the lock lever
brackets.

Remove the engine cover.

Loosen the retaining bolts on the
front and/or side lock lever
brackets, and move the bracket(s)
as necessary to obtain the specified
engine cover clearance.

After adjustment, tighten the
retaining bolts securely, and install
the engine cover.

Recheck the engine cover
clearance, and readjust if necessary.

Specified engine cover clearance:

With the engine cover in place and
both front and side lock levers in the
locked position, measure the
clearance between the engine cover
and the engine undercase at the lock
levers.
