G0613/14 Swivel Mast Metal Cutting Bandsaw

Blade Change

Change the blade when it becomes dull, damaged,
or when you are using materials that require a
blade of a certain type or tooth count.

To change the blade on the bandsaw:

1. DISCONNECT THE BANDSAW FROM

POWER!

2. Raise the bow of the bandsaw for access

and close the feed control lever to hold the
bow in place.

3. Slide the blade guides as far apart as possible,

and remove the wheel access cover.

4. Remove both of the blade guide guards

(

Figures 34 and 35) from the bandsaw.

5. Loosen the blade tension handle in Figure 33

and slip the blade off of the wheels.

6. Install the new blade through both blade guide

bearings and around the bottom wheel.

Tip: This is a good time to adjust the blade
guides if you have not done so recently.

7. Hold the blade around the bottom wheel with

one hand and slip it around the top wheel with
the other hand, keeping the blade between
the blade guide bearings.

Tip: You can use a block of wood to tap
on the blade in order to fully seat the blade.

Note: Do not to flip the blade inside out so the
blade will be installed in the wrong direction.
Make sure the blade teeth are facing toward
the workpiece and the direction of cut.

CUTTING HAZARD!

Blades are sharp! Put

on heavy leather gloves
