Overview

The VT2442 Voice Gateway enables up to two standard analog telephones to use digital telephony services over
a

broadband

Internet connection. The broadband connection can be any high-speed data service through either:

A cable modem connected to coaxial cable from a cable television company

A DSL (digital subscriber line) modem connected to telephone wiring from a telephone company

The VT2442 provides four

Ethernet

ports and a built-in

router

for a home or small office local area network (

LAN

).

It is ideal for your home, home office, or small business/enterprise.

You can connect up to four computers or other Ethernet devices directly to the VT2442. By adding

hubs

or other

routers, you can expand your network up to the recommended maximum of 16 connected devices.

The computers on the VT2442 network must:

Have a 10Base-T or 10/100Base-T Ethernet adapter

Be running Microsoft
