Congratulations, you now have a new state-of-
the-art SURFboard
® SB4100 high-speed
cable modem. This high-speed modem enables
you to connect your home or business computer
to a DOCSIS-compliant data network. The
SB4100 transmits and receives data at much
higher speeds than traditional telephone
or ISDN modems.
It provides high-speed access to the Internet and
other online services.
A new Universal Serial Bus (USB) port is
available for a single-user direct connection to
USB-equipped computers. The standard Ethernet
connection provides network service to single or
multiple users.
SB4100D
You may have selected our SB4100D, a dual-
return cable modem. It uses either a coaxial TV
cable or a telephone line for the upstream
communication. It includes a 33.6 Kbps analog
telephone line communication. The SB4100D
chooses the correct method of communication
automatically on Power Up of initial
installation.
