4. Examine the drive to determine the cause of the problem:

v

If the tape is broken, do not attempt repair. Return the drive and the stuck
tape to your reseller for maintenance (note that your tape will be scrapped).

If the leader pin dropped from the leader block, go to step 5 on page 90 and
continue this procedure.

v

If the leader block pulled the tape (but not the pin) from the spool so that it
looks like the pin was dropped, go to step 5 on page 90 and continue this
procedure.
