Troubleshooting
What appears to be a malfunction may not always be serious. Please go through the following list before requesting
service.
POWER
Symptom Possible cause Remedy
Power does not come on. Power plug is not inserted securely. Plug in securely.
OPERATION
Symptom Possible cause Remedy
The remote control unit does not work. Too far from the unit. More closer to the unit.
The tip of the remote control unit is not
pointed in the right direction. Point the infrared signal window toward
the remote sensor on the front panel (see
page 13).
Batteries are exhausted. Replace the batteries with new ones.
Battery polarity is incorrect. Take out the batteries and insert them
again in the correct direction.
The remote control unit is not set for
operating your TV. Set the remote control unit for operating
your TV (see page 14).
The PAL/NTSC button on the remote
control does not work. The NTSC/REMOTE/PAL switch is not
correctly set. Set the NTSC/REMOTE/PAL switch on the
rear panel to "REMOTE" while the unit is
turned off (see page 9).
The TV/VIDEO - CANCEL, 5/∞/2/3 or
numeric buttons do not work.
The TV - DVD switch is not correctly set. To control the unit, set the TV - DVD
switch to "DVD". To control your TV, set
the TV - DVD switch to "TV" (see page 14).
Operation is not possible. Microcomputer malfunction due to
lightning or static electricity. Turn off the power and unplug the power
cord, then connect the power cord again.
Moisture condensation caused by a
sudden change of temperature or
humidity. Turn off the power, then turn it on a few
hours later.
The disc does not allow the operation, or
a non-playable disc is loaded. Check and replace the disc (see page 4).
The VIDEO SIGNAL SELECTOR on the
rear panel cannot be worked. The switch position changed while unit
power is on. Change the switch position while unit
power is off.
When using the TITLE/GROUP button to
select a title during DVD VIDEO playback,
appears on the TV screen and the title
cannot be selected.
Disc content does not allow the
operation. Try to press 7 and select a title using the
numeric buttons on the remote control.
