printed black Eye-Mark passes through the beam, the light is no longer reflected back to the
sensor detector, indicating to the printer that it should use this position as the start of a new
label. When dust, dirt, adhesive or other foreign matter interferes with the light path of either
of these sensors, the results is erratic label positioning and feeding. These sensors should be
cleaned regularly, at least every two rolls of labels. In addition, a Paper End sensor is used to
detect when the media supply has been depleted. It is very important that this sensor be kept
operating properly since the Print Head depends upon the presence of the media as a heat sink.
Printing without media under the head can result in damage to the Print Head.
