Settings

Explanation of Jumpers

To modify the operation of the

serverboard, jumpers can be used

to choose between optional settings.

Jumpers create shorts between two

pins to change the function of the

connector. Pin 1 is identifi ed with a

square solder pad on the printed cir-

cuit board. See the diagram at right for

an example of jumping pins 1 and 2.

Refer to the serverboard layout page

for jumper locations.

Note: On two-pin jumpers, "Closed"

means the jumper is on and "Open"

means the jumper is off the pins.

SGPIO

The two headers labeled T-SGPIO1

and T-SGPIO2 are for SGPIO (Se-

rial General Purpose Input/Output).

SGPIO provides a bus between the

SATA controller and the SATA drive

backplane to provide SATA enclosure

management functions. Connect the

appropriate cables from the backplane

to the SGPIO1 and SGPIO2 headers

to utilize SATA management functions

on your system.
