960

Lincolnweld

®

960 is a low cost, general purpose flux designed to weld butt joints and both single and multiple pass

fillets. It can be used for automatic and semiautomatic welding. It produces welds with good impact strength and
good slag removal. 960 Flux is designed to meet AASHTO Fracture Critical Requirements.

980

Lincolnweld

®

980 combines many of the features of the 700 and 800 series fluxes, making it an excellent choice for

fabricators who desire one flux for automatic and semiautomatic welding throughout the shop. It is intended primarily
for welding plain carbon (mild) steel. Exceptional resistance to flash-through and porosity caused by arc blow makes it
the best choice for semi-automatic welding. When used with L-50 or LC-72 electrodes, 980 exhibits outstanding single
pass welding characteristics. It is neutral, providing limited alloy buildup in multiple pass welds at high voltages even
on plate one inch thick.

Fluxes – Fabrication of Line Pipe

995N

Recommended for single pass square butt welding such as longitudinal and spiral seams on pipe greater than 1/2"
thickness. In particular, 995N flux is recommended with LA-81 electrode for applications requiring a minimum of 50 lbs.

997

Lincolnweld

®

997 is a special flux intended for square butt welding; longitudinal and spiral seam welding of pipe up

to 1" thick. It is designed for square butt welding applications requiring one pass per side, such as seam welds on pipe.
Typically, L-61 should be used with 997. However, where impact requirements are specified, L-70 should be used.

761-Pipe

You’ll be impressed with the ability of Lincolnweld

®

761-Pipe flux to perform in spiral or longitudinal seam pipe welding

applications. Similar in scope to 761, the Pipe version’s particle size is optimized for seam welding. Weld deposits are
usually low carbon, fairly high manganese and have superior crack resistance. 761-Pipe has excellent resistance to
pockmarking. It is perfect for AC and multiple arc welding.

P223

Lincolnweld

®

P223 flux is an industry standard for spiral pipe welding on up to X80 grade pipe, especially where good

impact properties are required. It is also well-suited for longitudinal seam welding on pipe, producing a low bead profile
with very straight edges, while minimizing undercuts. Its fast freezing slag makes it ideal for even small diameter pipe.
In most cases, the slag is self-peeling. For these same reasons, P223 is an excellent choice for many two-pass welding
applications. While designed for two-pass welding applications, P223 is a neutral flux, which is also suitable for use in
multiple pass welding with mild steel and low alloy electrodes.

AXXX10

Alloy flux Lincolnweld

®

A-XXX-10, when used with Lincolnweld

®

L-61 wire, produces a Ni1 deposit for welding ASTM

A533-Class1 and A588 (weathering) steel.

MIL800-HPNi MIL800-HPNi flux is designed to be used with LA-85 (ENi5) electrode, and increases the nickel content of the weld

deposit from a nominal 1% to a minimum of 1% nickel. MIL800-HPNi is used to weld high performance steels such as
HPS70W having a minimum yield strength of 70 ksi. These steels are primarily found in bridge girder manufacturing.
MIL800-HPNi also provides higher deposition rates than standard fluxes and is more resistant to moisture pickup than
other traditional highly basic fluxes and meets an H2 (2 ml of hydrogen/100 grams of weld metal) AWS diffusible
hydrogen designation.
