Local Lincoln Authorized Field Service Facility for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.

The wire feeder does not feed wire

and the drive rolls do not spin.

The wire feeds erratically, or the

Motor Thermal LED lights.

The wire continues to feed when the

trigger is released.

No shielding gas

1. Verify the power source is turned

on.

2. Verify the circuit breaker for the

wire feeder on the power source

has not tripped.

3. C h e c k t h a t t h e g u n t r i g g e r i s

operating properly.

4. If the motor thermal LED is illumi-

n a t e d , w a i t a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1

mi nu te be fore we ld i ng a ga i n .

Inspect the gun for feeding prob-

lems.

5. Verify power is being supplied to

the wire feeder.

1. Verify the correct drive rolls and

inner wire guide are installed in

the wire drive.

2. Check for sharp bends in the gun

liner.

3. Examine the contact tip for wear

and proper size. Replace as nec-

essary.

4. Check the gun liner. The welding

e l e c t r o d e s h o u l d s l i d e e a s i l y

through the gun.

5. V e ri f y t h e p ro p er g u n l in e r is

installed.

6. Adjust the pressure arm.

7. On bench models, make sure the

brake tension is not too tight.

8. If using a wire conduit, verify the

wire slides easily through the

conduit.

1. C h e c k i f t h e 2 s t e p / T r i g g e r

Interlock switch is in the TRIG-

GER INTERLOCK position.

2. Verify operation of the gun trig-

ger.

1. Verify the gas supply is turned on

and not empty.

2. Check the gas hose for cuts.

Make sure it is not crushed.

3. Verify the shielding gas hose is

connected to the gun bushing or

welding gun.

If all recommended possible areas of

misadjustment have been checked

and the problem persists, Contact

your local Lincoln Authorized

Field Service Facility.
