- Playing bonus groups

Some discs contain bonus groups. If a password screen appears after
selecting a group, enter the password with the NUMBER keys and press
ENTER. Refer also to the disc’s jacket.

Notes:

• Output is in PCM when using a digital connection. (p. 18)
• This is cancelled when you perform skip, pause, or when play reaches a

point where a program recorded in sound other than Dolby Digital starts.

• This does not work if the setting is “Off” in “Search Audio & PLAY ×1.3”.

• This does not work when recording is in XP or FR mode during

simultaneous recording and play. (p. 42).

To return to normal speed

Press PLAY/×1.3.

Slow-motion playback

►► FF/SLOW or ◄◄ REW/SLOW while

paused.

• On the unit, hold down ►►Ι or Ι◄◄.
• When slow motion play is continued for about 5 minutes it pauses

automatically.

Notes:

• The speed increases up to 5 steps.
• Press PLAY to restart play.

VCD

Backward slow-motion (◄◄) does not work.

To return to normal speed

Press PLAY/×1.3.

Frame-by-frame viewing

ΙΙ► or FRAME ◄ΙΙ while paused.

Notes:

• Each press shows the next frame.
• Press PLAY to restart play.

VCD

Backward frame-by-frame (◄ΙΙ) does not work.

• Whether pictures are advanced by “Frame” or “Field” is selected

automatically. (pp. 68, 70)

Displaying the television image as a
picture-in-picture

Press TIME SLIP during play.

• The unit displays the television image as a picture-in-picture.
• You will hear the playback audio.
• Press TIME SLIP again to cancel.
• Time Slip becomes unavailable if any V-Chip setting is made in the

LOCK item of the SET UP.

• The time indicator will go off after about 5 seconds, but will turn on

again when you set the indicator.

• Press ▲▼ to alter in one-minute units. Press and hold ▲▼ to alter

in 10-minute units.
