PIP Position: To change the position of the PIP image, choose PIP Position from

the System menu; see Figure 4-13. Choose one of the following:
• Top Left: This places the PIP source into a 427x240 designated image area at

the top left of the screen.

• Top Right: This places the PIP source into a 427x240 designated image area at

the top right of the screen.

• Bottom Left: This places the PIP source into a 427x240 designated image area

at the bottom left of the screen-safe area of the DMD.

• Bottom Right: This places the PIP source into a 427x240 designated image

area at the bottom right of the screen-safe area of the DMD.

• Picture-By-Picture: This reduces the designated image area of the Active

source to 614x345 and places it next to the PIP source, which is also in a

614x345 image area. These two images are centered on the screen.

• Split Screen: This is a special mode in which the active source is also used as

the PIP source and placed in a PIP area equal to half the display on the left

side. This results in the right half of the image being the active source and the

left half is the PIP source. The PD7170 applies the User Memory 2 settings to

the PIP image.

Split-screen mode is useful for viewing “before” and “after” settings for

Sharpness, Noise Reduction and other advanced image parameters. See

Figure 4-14.
