CD-synchro recording

When your MD recorder is configured into a
system with Onkyo Separate Collection series
components (A-905TX/R-805TX and C-705TX),
the operation of the MD recorder can be
synchronized with that of the CD player.

1

Set the MD recorder to recording
standby mode.

• For information on setting the MD

recorder to recording standby mode
and the necessary preparatory steps,
see “Analog recording” or “Digital
recording.”

For digital CD-synchro recording
Connect the CD player’s (optical) digital
output terminal to the MD-105TX’s
DIGITAL INPUT 1 terminal.

2

Select a recording mode.

Refer to Step 4 on page 22.

When the CD stops playing, the MD
recorder stops recording and enters the
recording standby mode.
To stop synchro recording, stop playing
the CD. The MD recorder enters recording
standby mode.

To stop CD-synchro recording

Press the button on the CD player. The MD
recorder then enters recording standby mode.

Note
• If you press the Pause button to restart playing

the CD from pause mode, synchro recording is
disabled. This is convenient when you wish to
adjust the recording level.

• For analog recording, set the input selector of

the A-905TX/R-805TX to the CD position and
keep it placed in that position during recording.
Changing the input selector setting causes the
MD recorder to stop and enter recording
standby mode.
