Somehow the operating system must be informed of the change and new disk
geometry be passed on in order that the new file system is recognized. For
proper installation, be sure to follow the procedure below when using
removable media devices.

[Mounting a file system]

To mount a file system on removable media, insert the medium and wait for
the drive to spin up. At the NetWare prompt, type

:load monitor <Return>

1. Select Disk Information
2. Select the corresponding drive with removable media
3. Move the inverted cursor bar to the item Removable Drive Mount Status:

and press <Return> to mount the device
Note: If the status is mounted already, then dismount and mount it again
by pressing 4 consecutive <Return> to make sure the operating system
gets the correct disk geometry.

4. Exit monitor
5. The message shown on the console informing you of the new media

geometry looks like this:
*** (DC820B#3/ID#5) Removable media: hds=64 sec=32 cyls=120 ***
(This indicates that your DC-820B is installed in slot 3 and your device
has a capacity 120MB with SCSI ID 5.)

6. At the NetWare prompt, type:
:mount volume_name_as_desired

Then the file system is mounted and the device is locked. Any attempt to eject
the media while the file system is mounted produces no effect. If the volume
name of the new medium is unknown, you are able to check it by selecting
the item Volume Options after typing the following command at the NetWare
prompt,

:load install <Return>.

[Dismounting a file system]

To dismount a file system on removable media, at the NetWare prompt, type:

:dismount volume_name_as_desired <Return>
:load monitor <Return>
