INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on the purchase of the Ear Thermometer 200. We hope you will enjoy using the thermometer and the
benefits it offers.
The Ear Thermometer 200 uses infrared technology to measure infrared energy emitted from the eardrum and
surrounding tissue, and then converts it into temperature value.

ABOUT BODY TEMPERATURE

Normal human body temperature fluctuates throughout
the day; generally, lowest in the morning, highest in the
evening.
Different parts of human body also have different
temperatures. Therefore, the standards of measuring oral,
axillary, rectal and ear temperatures are different. The
human body temperature is controlled and adjusted by the
hypothalamus in the brain. As the veins flow through the
hypothalamus, they also flow through the ear-drum in the
mid ear. Thus, measuring the ear temperature (the
temperature of the ear drum membrane) can best reflect
the body temperature.

Normal body temperature is a range, not a fixed value.
When using an IR ear thermometer to take temperature,
the normal body temperature range is 35.8 °C - 38.0 °C
Also, people's normal temperature ranges tend to
decrease with their age.

However, the normal range is also different from person to
person. To determine your and your family members'
normal temperature ranges is very important. It can be done easily by using our Infrared Ear Thermometer. Please
practice to take temperatures on yourself and your healthy family members to determine their normal temperature
ranges.

tute for physician’s consultation.

• When the tempature is higher than 38°, means that the patient may have fever. Contact your doctor.
• Do use a new, clean probe cover while measuring, otherwise the result of measurement will be inaccurate.
• Do not use the thermometer outside the operating ambient temperature of 10°C ~40°C or ambient humidity up

over 95% RH.

• For proper measurement, condition the thermometer for 30 minutes in measurement site till room temperature.
• Do not use the thermometer when the ear canel is wet, or when the person is suffering an ear disease.
• Earwax or obstructions will affect the accuracy of the thermometer.
• Sideway sleeping gesture will cause that the ear themperature will rise.
• The thermometer is calibrated and does not need re-calibration if used according to the instructions.
• The measured temperatures may be different in the different ear side. Measure the same ear to ensure an

accurate measurement.

• After a shower or exercise, the body temperature will rise. Please take a rest before taking temperature.
• Do not insert the probe into the ear canal with excessive force.
• Don’t touch or blow the infrared sensor
• Keep the unit out of children’s reach. A self-measurement forced by children may cause ear damage.
