Setting the Beeper Coding the Meter

1. With the meter off, slide the
code key into the code key
slot. It should easily snap
into place.
2. Press to turn on the
meter.
3. Make sure the code on the
display matches the code
on the test strip vial.
4. Throw away the old code
key.
Notes:
• If “---code” appears on the
display, turn off the meter, make
sure the code key is all the way
in, then turn on the meter again.
• Don’t force the code key into the
meter; it only goes in one way –
numbers out and ridges up.
• If the code number on the
display does not match the code
number on the test strip vial,
call Accu-Chek Customer Care
at 1-800-858-8072.
When you first get your meter, the beeper is set to “On” (but you can turn it off and not affect your test
results in any way). It beeps whenever:

Change the code key every time you open a new box of test strips.
• A strip is inserted
• Blood or control solution is applied to a strip
• A result is displayed
• An error occurs while testing. The beeper sounds
when an error occurs, even if the beeper
is turned off.
• Buttons are pushed
To turn the beeper off:
1. Press to turn on the meter. Wait for the flashing test strip.
2. Press and hold and MEM at the same time until “set” appears on the display,
then release the buttons. The word “On” and the beeper symbol appear.
3. Press to turn the beeper off.
4. Press and MEM at the same time to finish setup.
The flashing test strip appears.
“Setting the...” is process of
PMS 3005.
“Coding the...” is process of PMS
3005.
