Managing
Audit Reports

Using the MICR
Basic Audit

The TROY Printer Utility allows the administrator to enable/disable, configure, print, and delete audit reports for
all TROY MICR printing solutions installed locally or on the network. The recorded audit report data is stored in
the TROY non-volatile flash memory. The stored audit data can be deleted using the TROY Printer Utility or the
printer control panel after entering a valid administrator password. Audit reports provide a convenient method
for verifying the proper number of checks were printed, matching the individual and total check dollar amounts
against your bookkeeping records, and identifying the user who ran the check printing job.

Use this feature to record, store and print a report of the MICR printing activity sent to the MICR printer. When
enabled, the MICR basic audit records only the MICR line information (transit/routing number, bank number and
check number) each time the TROY MICR font is accessed. The MICR basic audit report will always print in
portrait format. The TROY Printer Utility or the printer control panel can be used to select the type of audit
report you wish to print.

Two versions of the MICR basic audit report can be selected for printing:

Print TROY Partial Audit – prints only the audit data recorded since the last Print TROY Partial

Audit or Print TROY Full Audit report was printed.

Print TROY Full Audit – prints all recorded audit data (MICR line data and summary line data

indicating the total number of checks printed) stored in the printer’s memory.

NOTE: Canceling a Print TROY Partial Audit report before the report finishes printing will cause the audit
information marked for this report to be reprinted along with any subsequently recorded data when the next partial
audit report is printed.

The partial or full audit report can be selected to print in one of two formats:

Summary Report – prints only the number of checks printed.

Full Report – prints all audit record data and the summary line.

Any of the MICR basic audit reports can be selected to print in one of two sort orders:

TROY Primary Sort Order – prints the audit data in ascending order (default).

TROY Secondary Sort Order – prints the audit data in descending order.
