Setup

Mode 2 = Phase angle 45°

The capacitance and the ohmic conductance
are measured separately, the capacitance
value is corrected by calculating it with the
ohmic conductance, so that measurement
errors caused by conductive buildup or vary-
ing product moisture are compensated.
Application:
- highly conductive products
- adhesive, conductive products
- solids with fluctuating moisture content

For applications in conductive, viscous liquids,
you should use a suitable electrode of type EL
24.

7 Simulation current

With this function you can simulate the level.
As soon as the rotary switch is set to position
7, the simulation will be active. The current
value of the instantaneous level is used as the
initial simulation value. With the plus and minus
key you can modify the current value between
3.8 mA and 22 mA. Each push of the key
changes the current value by a 10 µA incre-
ment.
If you hold the key pushed, the value changes
automatically and with rising speed.

8 Reset

This function sets all values to default.
Take note that the adjustment will also be
deleted. Tag number, measurement loop des-
ignation etc. from the HART

®

or VVO adjust-

ment, however remain unchanged.

9 Offset correction

This function is necessary if an adjustment
should be carried out in m. This is only possi-
ble in conjunction with the CAP E 32 H oscilla-
tor. With this function, the initial capacitance in
the electronics is saved. A prerequisite is that
the electrode is mounted into the vessel and
that it is completely uncovered by the medium.

For electrodes with concentric tube, this func-
tion is already carried out at VEGA, as the
vessel does not influence the measurement.
The offset correction must only be repeated if
the oscillator is exchanged.
