Measurement set-up for vapours
For the flow measurement of vapours, the
impulse lines must be filled with condensate
so that the measuring cell is protected against
the high temperatures of the hot steam. The
recommended installation position of the trans-
mitter is therefore below the pressure tapping
points.
This arrangement also ensures a continuous
filling of the impulse lines with the condensate.
The tapping sockets of the impulse lines must
be mounted laterally at the same height. Ad-
justment pots at the pressure tapping points
ensure the levelling of the hydrostatic pres-
sure of the condensation columns.

If in an installation for flow measurement of
vapours, the transmitter is installed above the
pressure tapping points, the location of the
bends in the impulse lines to the pressure
tapping points must be noted. They must
have exactly the same height, in order to
avoid distorting the effective pressure through
different condensate column heights.
