4 Profibus DP signal output VEGASCAN 850
With the adjustment software VEGA Visual
Operating (VVO), the configuration of the
Profibus DP interface can be carried out on
VEGASCAN 850. Provide a connection be-
tween PC with VVO and VEGASCAN 850 with
the RS 232 interface cable. The following
illustration is displayed on the PC after
switching on VEGASCAN 850 and starting
VVO.

Configuration“, then to "Measuring
system“, in the next window "Configuration
measuring system“ click to "
Communica-
tion.
The window " Configuration Profibus (DP)“
opens.
Here, you select the slave address of
VEGASCAN on the Profibus DP. The settings
1 to 126 are permitted.
• After the configuration settings, click to
"
Save“, then to "Quit“. In the window "Con-
figuration measuring system“ click again to
"
Quit“.
BUS termination
When connecting VEGASCAN to the begin-
ning or end of the bus chain, the instrument
has to be terminated. Set the slide switch
(next to the field bus terminal) to position "on“.
After setting up the bus interface, provide the
connection with the Profibus DP. If communi-
cation works properly, the green LED
marked "BA“ in the front plate of VEGASCAN
lights.
