PC/DCS output in VEGASCAN

Depending on the version, 30 or 60 PC/DCS
outputs are available in VEGASCAN 850. The
configuration or the parameter adjustment of
the PC/DCS outputs is made with the adjust-
ment software VVO in VEGASCAN. Several
PC/DCS outputs can be assigned to each
measurement loop in the processing system.
Then the measured value can be transferred
to the Profibus master, e.g. as "Percentage
value“ and "Scaled“, e.g. in "liters“.

Configure PC/DCS output with VVO

A PC/DCS output is assigned automatically to
each measurement loop created in
VEGASCAN. The assignment of the PC/DCS
output number is a standard procedure.
Always the next free PC/DCS output number
is used. If, e.g. the PC/DCS output numbers
3, 4, 5 and 6 are still free, the PC/DCS output
number 3 is assigned automatically to the
new measurement loop. Which output
number will be assigned is shown in VVO
during the creation of a new measurement
loop in the window "Create new measurement
loop - Measurement loop desigation“. By
pushing the button "

PC/DCS address“, a new

window opens in which the output numbers
can be assigned manually.

PC/DCS output assignment

It is also possible to assign later one, another
or further PC/DCS outputs to a measurement
loop.

Via the menu items "

Configuration, Measure-

ment loop, Modify“ and the button "

PC/DCS

output“ you reach the window "PC/DCS coor-
dination“.

Parameter adjustment of the PC/DCS
output with VVO

The following settings of parameters are
possible for the PC/DCS output:
- parameters to be transmitted, e.g. in per-

cent

- unit in which the parameter should be

transmitted, e.g. 0.00 %

- transfer error code in the PC/DCS value
- limitation of measured value

Examples for setting of parameters, meas-
urement unit

Percent is selected as parameter and 0.0%
as measurement unit. With these parameters,
the measured value 0.0 … 100.0 % is trans-
ferred as PC/DCS value 0 … 1000.

Percent is selected as parameter and 0.00 %
as measurement unit. With these parameters,
the measured value 0.00 … 100.00 % is
transferred as PC/DCS value 0 … 10000.
