2.4 Connect Power
A Power Adapter is used to power the scale. Connect the Power Adapter to the power
outlet (see Figure 2-3) and the power plug to the back of the scale (see Figure 2-4)
For use only with a UL or CSA Certified
(or equivalent approved) power adapter,
which is a Class 2 or a Limited Power
Source device.

2.5 Battery Installation and Use
The scale may also be powered by batteries. Remove the battery cover and install four
alkaline AA (LR6) type batteries, (not included). Refer to Figure 2.5 to properly install
the batteries. Under battery power a battery symbol is shown on the left side of the
display. The Auto-Off setting is useful for conserving battery power, see section 4.2.1.
