Important: Make sure the Remote Data Access components for your sys-
tem are configured and working properly before continuing with CE Batch
portable installation. For more information about Remote Data Access
configuration, please refer to
“Remote Data Access Configuration
.
1.
Select Portable > Synchronize CE Device from the menu bar in the
workstation application. The Batch Portable Utility appears.

From the Main menu in the Batch Portable Utility, select CE Portable
> Install Program.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Select Device field, and select the
handheld device and operating system that you will use with the Batch
Portable application from the list that appears.

After your device is selected, click the Install button to install the
handheld application. A dialog box appears, asking you to make sure
your handheld device is connected and ready to install the portable
application. Click OK to close her dialog box and continue installing
the batch portable application.

The Installation Setup Wizard appears, welcoming you to the setup
wizard. When you are ready to continue, click Next.

The License Agreement window appears. Read the terms of the license
agreement and then click Yes to accept them. (You must click Yes to
continue with the installation.)

The Choose Components window appears. The Batch Portable applica-
tion contains two types of installations: Full and Custom.
To install all four components, click the drop-down arrow in the Select
the type of install field and select the Full option.
To install selected components, click the drop-down arrow in the Select
the type of install field and select Custom. The four individual com-
ponents are listed individually.
•
ISRP CE Client: The Batch Portable Application, which is sent to
the portable device.
•
.NET Compact Framework: the .NET framework is device depen-
dent.
•
SQL Server Compact Edition: the SQL Server Batch Portable.
