If ‘Automatically connect to the device’ is selected, the next time the application opens
the device will be automatically connected.
In the Device Management dialog chained or cascaded units are displayed in the Device
column with a
[ (square bracket) icon. The sequence of the units is displayed in the Order
column. See the following screen capture.

Note: When using the CATC Sync cards the order is automatically detected.
IMPORTANT! Power up all units before starting the software.
1.5.5 Connecting via Ethernet
The Ethernet connection can have any of these configurations:
1. Analyzer connected to the host computer (machine running the application
software), using a switch, Gigabit Ethernet interface, or similar device.
2. Analyzer connected directly to the host computer using an Ethernet crossover cable.
To connect via USB refer to “Connecting Via USB” on page 30 .
Connecting to a Network
When connected to a network, the analyzer can communicate with the DHCP server in
order to obtain it's IP address configuration. The client needs to send a request to the
DHCP server to obtain an IP. The server sends only one reply. The server does not
necessarily send the available IP address
The SierraNet M168 product uses the following ports:
TCP Ports: 4000 ‐ 4003
UDP Ports: 4027 ‐ 4029
