DIAGNOSTIC INDICATION

Phase indicator LEDs (Green)

Each phase is equipped with a green LED. Should

complete loss of surge protection occur on each

phase, the green LED will extinguish and the red

service LED will flash. Every suppression element

is monitored. Note that the green LED indicators

will drop out due to loss of power or severe under

voltage.

Service LED (Red)

Flashes in the event of a problem. The red service

LED is slaved to the green LEDs via logic and will

illuminate when any green LED extinguishes.

Audible Alarm Option

If equipped with optional Dry Contact and Audible

Alarm, these options are slaved via logic to the

green LEDs. In the event of a problem, the Dry

Contacts will change state and the Audible Alarm

will sound. The Audible Alarm may be silenced by

deenergizing the SPD.

Optional Remote Display Models

Overview: All Remote Display models include Per

Phase green LEDs, red service LED, Push to Test

function, Audible Alarm, Silence Switch with LED

indicator, and one set of Form C Dry Contacts.

Remote Display XDSs include unique internal

connections specific for the Remote Display.

Remote Displays are not retrofitable in the field to

non-Remote Display XDS models.

The Remote Display is rated NEMA 4 and includes

a sealing gasket. It is connected via a 4’, 14??

Pin ribbon cable. The Remote Display requires a

cutout through non-combustible material such as

metallic plate.

R: Standard Remote Display

S: Remote Display with Surge Counter and

Counter Reset function and Eprom memory

T: Remote Display with separate N-G LED

(N-G is otherwise monitored with Phase A)

U: Remote Display with separate N-G LED and

Surge Counter

Mounting Diagnostic Display

Mount the Display in a user-friendly location,

with consideration to weather and vandalism.

Dimensions are in Figure 7. A 4’ connector

cable is typically included. Longer lengths are

available. The Display features a UL94-5VA and

UL 746C(f1) polymeric label. A gasket is included.

Diagnostic Display Operation

All indicators and controls are located on the

Diagnostic Display. Each phase features a green

LED indicator. Green LEDs indicate correct

operation. If an inoperative condition were to

occur, the built-in Audible Alarm will sound and

the red service LED will illuminate. This indicates

that the unit needs evaluation by a qualified

electrician or technician. Until a qualified person

evaluates the unit, press Silence to silence the

alarm. (The LED above Alarm Silence illuminates

when the alarm is deactivated. Normal operation

occurs with the Alarm Silence LED extinguished.)
