FLUSH SETTINGS
Cycle Time _ _ _ _ mm The countdown timer value is entered here; the factory setting is in
most instances, set at 1,440 minutes (one day). An automatic flush cycle is initiated when the
countdown timer reaches “0”. A flush initiated on differential pressure will reset the countdown
timer to the cycle time value.
Master Valve Delay _ _ _ _ ss The master valve is the actuated valve on the discharge of the
filter outlet manifold. The master valve closes during the backwash cycle to increase the
backwash (flush) water pressure. The master valve delay is the time (in seconds) from when the
master valve closes to when the pods begin the flush cycle. The factory setting is 5 seconds.
Valve Delay Time _ _ _ _ ss For Opal disc filter systems equipped with air assisted flush, the
value entered is time (in seconds) from when a filter pod valve is actuated to flush, to when the
solenoid on the air assist pod actuates. The factory setting is “1” second. For filters without air
assisted flush enter “0” for the valve delay time.
Dwell Time _ _ ss The filter pods flush (backwash) in sequence, one at a time. The dwell time
is the time from when one pod completes the backwash, to when next pod begins. The factory
setting is 10 seconds.
Flush Time _ _ mm _ _ ss The value entered here is the length of time that each pod
backwashes. The factory recommended setting is 20 seconds (00 mm 20 ss).
D.P. Delay _ _ ss A flush cycle is automatically initiated when the differential pressure across
the filer inlet / outlet reaches 7 psi. The differential pressure must continuously remain at or
above the set point for the number of seconds entered here. The factory setting is 15 seconds.
During the flush cycle, the control panel display indicates the flush status progress with the
following messages, where “_ _ S.P.” is the programmed setting and “_ _ P.V.” is the time or
counts remaining.
