Zooming
Using the Wireless Controller or Optional Remote Control
The zoom speeds when using the wireless controller and when using an optional (ZR-2000 or ZR-1000 Zoom
Remote Controller) or commercially available remote control connected to the REMOTE terminal are different.
When using the wireless controller, you must press the record enable button and desired zoom button
simultaneously to zoom.
Setting the Zoom Speed
Perform the following procedure to set the zoom speed for the supplied
wireless controller. Refer to the following table for a summary of zoom
speeds when using the wireless controller or other remote controls.
1 Open the zoom [Speed Level] submenu.
[l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Speed Level]
2 Select [Fast], [Normal] or [Slow] and then press SET.
3 Open the zoom [Wireless Controller] submenu.
[l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Wireless Controller]
4 Select the desired level and then press SET.
• This setting affects both the wireless controller and optional remote
controls.
Zoom speeds
Soft Zoom Control
Soft zoom control allows you to start and/or stop the zoom gradually.
1 Open the [Soft Zoom Control] submenu.
[l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Soft Zoom Control]
2 Select the desired option and then press SET.
Options
Accessory Zoom speed
Wireless controller (supplied)
Constant zoom speed that is selected
from the menu.
Remote control without variable zoom speed
control (commercially available)
Constant zoom speed.
Remote control with variable zoom speed control
(optional ZR-2000 or ZR-1000 Zoom Remote
Controller, etc.)
Based on zoom speed setting of the
remote control.
[Both]: Zoom starts and stops gradually.
[Stop]: Zoom stops gradually.
[Start]: Zoom starts gradually.
[Off]: Use this setting if you do not intend to use soft zoom control.
