Drive type (generation) is now shown in the front panel window making it easier to select
the correct drive for the media being moved. Media type is already shown.

Debug tickets from the ESL G3 libraries are made more obvious that their content is
reduced.

Tape drives

Increased sensitivity to the performance of the LTO read channel allows for more accurate
assessment of drive and tape read health. This is reflected in the read margin output (the
actual values are factory-only view).

The WWN of the polling host is now shown in the device analysis rules.

The LTO Media Assessment Test output is improved with information about the drive that
ran the test, more accurate metrics and the remaining capacity on the tape

The LTO Drive Assessment Test output is improved with more details on the margins
measured.

‘Backup in progress’ is now highlighted in the LTO support ticket. The only time this might
be valid is from Standalone TapeAssure if the ticket is automatically pulled during a
backup. All other cases signify a possible issue.

Part number is now included in the Identification section of the support ticket for LTO 5
drives. Useful for warranty identification.

SAS connectivity issues are now highlighted under the Health->Interface section of the
LTO support ticket using the invalid DWORD count.

LTFS tapes can now be initialized back to erased data tapes.

The read write test can now be run from command line (CLF mode) as the pop-up window
can now be prevented using the ‘Allow overwrite’ option.

Virtual libraries (including D2D backup devices): no change

Operating system specific: no changes

Generic to tool

StorageWorks branding has been removed. Most significant effect of this is that L&TT is
now installed in a different location: Program Files/Hewlett-Packard/HP

Library and Tape Tools

. Existing log data is copied over from the old to the new

location on installation and the old installation folders are removed.

Real time decoding of the LTO support tickets (LTO 5 only) can now be turned off in the
preferences window.

More error decoding is performed. Mainly focused on LTO tests in this release.

The destination location can now be specified when generating XML tickets in command
line (CLF) mode. Default is still the same location as the source ticket.

Documentation

There is a new section on reading and interpreting LTO support tickets. See

“Understanding
