Message Waiting Indicator on Single or All Lines

Release 2.1 now allows a User or Administrator to configure the Message Waiting
Indicator (MWI) to illuminate for a specific line or for all lines. For example, if
you configure the MWI LED on line 3 only, the LED illuminates if a voice mail is
pending on line 3. If you configure the MWI LED for all lines, the LED
illuminates if a voice mail is pending on any line on the phone (lines 1 through 9).

A User or Administrator can configure the MWI on single or all lines using the
configuration files or the Aastra Web UI.

Configuring MWI using the Configuration Files

Use the following parameter to configure MWI for a single line or for all lines on
the phone using the configuration files.

Description

Allows you to enable the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) on a single line
or on all lines on the phone. For example, if you set this parameter to 3,
the LED illuminates if a voice mail is pending on line 3. If you set this
parameter to 0, the LED illuminates if a voice mail is pending on any line
on the phone (lines 1 through 9).

Note: To enable MWI for all lines in the configuration files, set this
parameter to zero (0). The enable MWI for all lines in the Aastra Web UI,
select “All” in the “Message Waiting Indicator Line” field.
