Adjusting the
exposure

The exposure is adjusted automatically in the
default setting.

Adjusting the exposure for backlit
subjects

When your subject has its back to the sun or
other light, you can adjust the exposure to
prevent the subject from becoming
shadowed.

Press BACK LIGHT when the POWER
switch is set to the CAMERA mode.

To cancel the back light function, press BACK
LIGHT again.

• The back light function is canceled when you set

[EXPOSURE] to [MANUAL] (p. 28) or select
[SPOT METER] (p. 26).

Fixing the exposure for the
selected subject – Flexible spot
meter

You can adjust and fix the exposure to the
subject, so that it is recorded in suitable
brightness even when there is strong contrast
between the subject and the background
(such as subjects in the limelight on stage).

Slide the POWER switch to select the
CAMERA mode.

Touch

to display [PAGE1].

Touch [SPOT METER].

Touch the point you want to adjust and
fix the exposure on the screen.

[SPOT METER] flashes while the camera
is adjusting the exposure for the selected
point.
