DMXPathfinder Operations

Splash: This refers to the initial screen and graphic seen when DMXQConnect

is first started. You can specify specific display time duration or have the splash
hold until “a Key is Pressed or a Mouse is Clicked”.

Display: You can choose to have the Command Line and Status Line display

at the bottom of your screen, by click-checking the appropriate boxes.

Comm Port: This screen defines the hardware connection parameters between

your PC and the DMXPathfinder. See Chapter 2: Communications Setup for
instructions. WARNING: Changing these settings may result in a loss of
your DMXPathfinder connection.

Database Backup: As with any other computer application, it is wise to make

backups of your DMXQConnect data. QConnect will remind you to make a
backup as the program is being closed, after the specified number of uses.

DMXPathfinder Hardware Setup

These provide the means to configure and identify your DMXPathfinder system.

There are two sections: System Configuration and Output Module Configuration.

System Configuration is used to set the number of Input and Output Modules.

This information then determines how many input and output devices can be
addressed when using DMXQConnect.

Output Module Configuration identifies Output Modules and their locations.

Type in names that will help you when you have to address individual parts of
your system. This is information is displayed and used when you set-up
communications in the DMXPathfinder control screens.

Having clear labels on your Sources and Stations will ensure that you are

patching the right signal to the right place. Clear, concise labels will go a long
way to keeping the process easy.

Source

To edit a Source, first click on it. Click in the Source Name box and type in the

name of Source (e.g. Main Console DMX 1). Use the [Tab] key or click in the
Description field. An optional description may be entered here. The regular text
editing conventions of Windows apply, including the right-click editing tools.

Input Module information is also displayed in the center of the window for each

Source that is highlighted. When done click the Update button or use the
[Enter] key to complete the addition to the Sources table. The next Source
