0 When manually using the functions available with Folding Unit FD-503/Finisher FS-521/Saddle
Stitcher SD-506, you can load paper in the upper tray of the post inserter only.

Multi-feed detection is a feature that automatically stops the machine if more than one sheet is fed at
a time. The post inserter is designed to operate this function. Some paper type, such as smooth sur-
face paper, may activate this function even if a single sheet is fed, and may stop the machine as a result.
Should this case occur frequently, press the Multi-feed detection button and light up the lower lamp, in
order to turn the function OFF.

Place paper in the upper tray of the post inserter, then align
the guides with paper.

Select the desired mode.
When selecting Corner Staple, 2 Position Staple, or Fold & Staple, press the staple selection button
to turn on the lamp of desired mode.
When selecting 2- or 4-Hole Punch, press the punch selection button to turn on the lamp of desired
mode.
When selecting Fold (6 styles), press the fold selection button to turn on the lamp of desired mode.
% Punch and Corner Staple/2 Position Staple are compatible. To use them in combination, turn on the
lamps of both functions.
NOTICE
Using Fold & Staple mode, the finished sets will be delivered to
the saddle stitcher tray. Be sure to withdraw the saddle
stitcher tray, and open the tray stand when fully withdrawing it.
