3.0 Data Entry Field Format & Limitations

Many of the fields in Printgroove will accept any kind of alphanumeric characters (A, B, C, or 1, 2, 3)
without constraint. The list below is meant as a general guideline for data entry in Printgroove.

Type of Field

Example & Recommendation

Text

Job Name:
1 to 20 alphanumeric characters. A Required text field requires at
least 1 character and can not be left blank. Although the text fields
will accept <shifted> characters, such as $, &, *, etc., they are not
recommended.

Number

Copies:
Requires at least one numerical digit. Required fields can not be left
blank.

Memo Field

Notes:
Up to 255 alphanumeric characters.

Date

Due Date:
Select date (and sometimes the time of day also) from the calendar.

Currency

Cost:
Valid monetary numbers with 2 decimal places and no $ included.
Field is needed for calculation with which the dollar sign may
interfere.

E-mail

E-mail:
Valid e-mail addresses must have the @ sign in the field. E.g.

[email protected]

URL

Server IP Address:
Should contain a valid web address such as

www.google.com

or

https://10.5.4.12

. Field might not be validated except to ensure it is

not empty.

User Name

Login Username:
Enter at least 5 alphanumeric characters. This field is case-sensitive,
so if you use upper and lower case letters, they will always have to
be input that way.

Password

Password:
Enter at least 5 alphanumeric characters. Spaces are accepted but
strongly discouraged. Field is case-sensitive.

Counter

Job Ticket Number:
Requires at least one digit. No leading zeros.

Pull-down menus

Shipping:
If the field is Required, you must select one of the options by clicking
on the downward arrow.

Checkboxes

Delivery Method:
If there is a group of checkboxes and a choice is Required, you must
check at least one box.
