Maintaining a record during reception

When printing the received fax, the page size of the received original is compared with the size of the loaded
paper, and the fax is printed by reducing the size at the specified reduction rate or by reducing the size so as
to fit the loaded paper. However, if printing is set for equal size printing, the received fax is printed at the same
size regardless of the paper size of the received fax.

Reduction printing

When a regular size original is received, the size of the received fax is reduced at the reduction rate set for
that paper size and printed out. (The initial value is 96%)

Refer to "Settings of transmission and reception mode (TX/RX Settings)" on page 10-45 for reduction rate
settings.

Printing after reducing the size to fit the paper

When the received original is longer than regular size, an appropriate paper size is determined from the width
and length of the received original and it is printed on paper of that size. When the most appropriate paper
size is not loaded in the paper tray, the original is reduced and printed on a paper of the nearest size.

Standards of determining the appropriate paper size and paper selection are as follows.

Step 1:

Selecting the appropriate paper

The appropriate paper size is determined by the following principle from the width and length of the received
original.
