Sending the fax after removing the black shadow (Frame Erase)

Frame Erase

When original is scanned while the ADF is open, there may be a black shadow around the original at the time
of scanning the booklet original and the original may be faxed with the black shadow. Frame Erase is a
function that erases the black shadow on Top, Bottom, Right, and Left sides of the original when a booklet
is scanned.

Note

Can be used in both original glass and ADF.

The frame erase quantity can be set within a range of 0.1 - 50 mm (1/16 - 2 inch) with a scale of 0.1 mm
(1/16 inch).

Initial Frame erase value at the time of procurement: 5.0 mm (3/16 inch)

Following functions cannot be used simultaneously.
Quick Memory TX, Total # of Pages, Polling RX, Bulletin board polling RX and Long Original.

Sending a fax after setting the Frame Erase

Press [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax/Scan screen.

Load the original.

For details on loading originals, refer to "Loading the original" on page 2-6.

Touch the buttons in order of [Scan Settings], [Erase].

Touch [Frame Erase].
