Caution

• Before making or changing the connections, switch off

the power and disconnect the power cord from the
power outlet.

• Open the terminal cover (XW-SMA3 only).

Note

• If the

AUX IN mini-plug jack is connected to auxiliary

phones jack, the volume of the unit will be adjusted by
the volume on the playback device. If the sound is
distorted after you lower the volume of the unit, try
lowering the volume on the auxiliary playback device.

• This unit’s

AUX IN jack is designed for 1 Vms inputs.

Some component CD/DVD players, however, are
designed for 2 Vms output; if one of these components
is connected to the unit, noise may be produced.

Connecting auxiliary devices

Connect the rear panel

AUX IN mini-plug jack to your

auxiliary playback device.

Note

• If your iPod/iPhone/iPad is not supported by this unit's

iPod/iPhone/iPad jacks (page 29), use the method
noted above to connect your iPod/iPhone/iPad.

Listening to auxiliary devices

Press input to select AUX IN as the input

source.

The

input indicator does not light.

Start playback of the auxiliary device.

Note

• When using the AUX input, if no cord with mini-plug is

connected to the

AUX IN jacks, and this unit is not

operated for 20 minutes or more, the unit’s power will
automatically be switched off.
