The Grand Tour

Make sure the Slim Select Bay is locked before you transport or carry the

computer.

Slim Select Bay lock

One screw secures the Slim Select Bay lock.

Docking interface

This port enables connection of an optional

Advanced Port Replicator III described in

Chapter 8,

Optional Devices

Keep foreign objects out of the docking interface port. Never allow metal

objects, such as screws, staples and paper clips, to enter the PC or

keyboard. Foreign metal objects can create a short circuit, which can

cause PC damage and fire, possibly resulting in serious injury. A plastic

shutter protects the connector.

Notches

Notches on the computer engage hooks on the

Advanced Port Replicator III to hold the

connection securely.

Memory module

cover

This cover protects two memory module sockets,

one module is preinstalled. Refer to the

Memory

expansion

section in Chapter 8, Optional

Devices.

Battery release latch

Slide and hold this latch to release the battery

pack for removal.

Power and Power-Up

Modes

Battery lock

Slide this lock to release the battery pack for

removal.

Battery pack

The battery pack powers the computer when the

AC adaptor is not connected. For detailed

Reserve Pen

(optional)

Reserve Pen is contained in the battery slot.

Reserve Pen enables data entry directly through

VGA cooling fan vent A cooling fan takes air into the computer through

this vent to cool the graphics controller.
