A clean machine with the new flushing and
descaling procedures
Note: Philips has improved the flushing and descaling
procedures. See chapters ‘Cleaning’ and ‘Descaling’ for
the new procedures.
Clean and descale your Philips SENSEO ® coffee
machine regularly.
- Remove used coffee pods after brewing. If a used
pod has been left in the coffee machine and you
have not used the machine for some time, flush
the machine before you use it again (see section
‘Flushing’ in chapter ‘Cleaning’).
- If you have not used the coffee machine for one
day, you have to flush the machine with fresh
water before you use the machine again
(see section ‘Flushing’ in chapter ‘Cleaning’).
- Descale the SENSEO ® coffee machine as
described in chapter ‘Descaling’ when the
CALC light goes on (after you have brewed
approx. 400 cups of SENSEO ® coffee). You can
also descale the SENSEO ® coffee machine more
often (every 3 months) in the same way. Descaling
takes 20 to 30 minutes. Do not interrupt the
descaling process.
