2.1
Notes on using these Operating Instructions
In this section you will learn how to make the most effective use of these Operating
Instructions so as to be able to work safely with the Decomposition System AOD 1.
The instructions given in Section 1 “For your safety” must be followed without
fail.
Work through Sections 1 to 8 in numerical order.
Section 3 "Transport, Storage, Installation Location" is particularly relevant to sys-
tem reliability and ensuring high accuracy of measurements. Section 4 describes the
components of the Decomposition System AOD 1.
Once you have carried out the procedures described in Section 5 "Setting-up and
Initial Start-up", the Decomposition System AOD 1 is ready for trial decompositions.
Section 6 "Carrying Out Decomposition Trials" describes the complete test proce-
dure from preparation of the components to the subsequent analysis.
Section 7 contains important information on care and maintenance, and accesso-
ries, consumables, and technical data are given in Sections 8 and 9. The index is in
Section 10.
In subsequent sections, the figures , , etc. indicate instructions for opera-
tions which must always be carried out in the order given.
2.2 Guarantee
You have purchased an Original IKA
-WERKE device, which conforms to the high-
est standards of technology and quality. As specified in the IKA
Sale and Supply
Conditions, the guarantee period is 24 months. If you need to take advantage of the
guarantee, please contact your supplier. Alternatively, you can send the unit directly
to our works, including with it the invoice from the supplier and stating the reasons
for returning it. Shipping is at your expense.

Warranty and Liability
Please read through these Operating Instructions attentively. IKA
-WERKE only
accepts responsibility for the safety, reliability and performance of the device if:
• the unit has been used in accordance with the operating instructions;
• only persons authorised by the manufacturer have carried out operations on
system components;
• only original parts and original accessories have been used for repairs.
