Lean back away from the pole allowing the Wood Pole Fall

Restrict Device (WPFRD) to support your body weight.

Adjust your hips so they are square to the pole.

Determine your distance from the pole.

1. Use your right arm to measure the distance between your

body and the pole. Optimal distance from the pole is typically

measured by placing elbow against stomach and a closed fist

to the pole. Arm is horizontal to the ground.

A. To increase working distance from the pole – moving farther away

from pole:

1. Press cam paddle with left thumb to release additional length

of inner strap.

2. Release cam paddle when correct position is reached.
3. Adjust as needed for a comfortable work position.
4. Adjust your hips so they are square to the pole.

B. To decrease working distance from the pole – moving closer

to the pole:

1. With right hand, grasp cam bracket as shown.

2. With left hand pull free end of double inner strap (orange

strap with warning card packet) toward you.

3. Adjust as needed for a comfortable work position
4. Adjust your hips so they are square to the pole.

How to adjust the length of the WPFRD when actively climbing

(if necessary – depending on the diameter of the pole).

1. Grasp the Guide bracket for outer strap at the back of the pole

with your right hand and release tension on the PoleMaster

by moving body slightly toward the pole.

2. Grasp the free end of the outer strap with your left hand

and pull to release the tongue of the adjustment buckle.

3. Lengthen or shorten the outer strap as needed and re-secure

the tongue buckle.

4. Lean back away from the pole, allowing the Wood Pole Fall

Restrict Device (WPFRD) to support your body weight.

5. Adjust your hips so they are square to the pole.
