Teradek StreamReader Plugin v 1.2

Overview

StreamReader plugin for Wirecast allows receiving streams from multiple Teradek video encoders

(such as Cube, Brik, and others) in MPEG Transport Stream, RTSP or Teradek Streaming (TDS) formats.
Plugin has built-in jitter buffer that allows compensating for network jitter. Buffer delay can be
controlled separately for each camera; the values can be set manually or automatically. Lip-sync
correction is also possible on per-camera basis. When several cameras are used to shoot the same event
and camera synchronization is required, it can be achieved by manually adjusting jitter buffer delays for
each camera, or by using special synchronization mode, in which the same stream delay is maintained
for all cameras that are using this mode.

Using StreamReader

To add single or multiple video sources, open Wirecast application and go to Sources->New Teradek

StreamReader Plugin. Dialog box with source settings will open. Configure the plugin in the way desired
and press “Apply” button.

Note that you need Teradek encoder firmware v 7.1.0 or later to be able to use all features of the

plugin. Wirecast version 4.3 for Windows or 4.3.1 for Mac or later is required.

Settings Description

Current Configuration box

The box displays settings that are currently used by plugin for the given source. Delay indicates

amount of buffering inside the plugin. The total end-to-end delay, in addition to buffering delay, would
include delays in camera, Teradek encoder, network delay, and monitor output delay.

Protocol

Allows switching between the following protocols:

Off.

Turns off the source.

Teradek Streaming (TDS) over UDP

. In this mode plugin acts as a server listening for UDP traffic

on the specified port. This streaming protocol is specifically optimized for local streaming with
minimum latency. When used over WiFi links, it also provides fastest reconnect in comparison
with other protocols when transmitter goes in and out of range. This protocol can be used to
receive stream from Teradek Clip.

Teradek Streaming (TDS) over UDP Multicast

. In this mode plugin joins specified (by multicast

host and port) multicast group and listens for the multicast UDP traffic. This streaming protocol
is specifically optimized for local streaming with minimum latency. When used over WiFi links, it
also provides fastest reconnect in comparison with other protocols when transmitter goes in
