OPERATING STOVE
Once the stove has been properly installed and plugged
into a grounded surge protector, you are ready to begin
operation.
IMPORTANT: Before filling the hopper, make sure all
shipping and packaging items are removed from the
hopper and there are no obstructions in the auger housing
opening.
Your Cumberland Stove is equipped with a fuel gate in
the hopper. This feature provides two important attributes
to your stove:
1. If your auger mechanism requires service, the gate
can be closed to allow its removal without emptying
the hopper of fuel.
2. In an over-temp situation, the fuel gate will
automatically close and the auger will evacuate any
material in the auger housing.
Once the necessary service has been performed, the
fuel shutoff gate will need to be reset to open the flow of
fuel to the auger.

1. To access the mechanism, remove the right side
panel. To do this, first remove the air filter in the back
of the stove.
By placing your hands on both sides of the right side
panel, lift straight up and then tilt the bottom of the panel
away from the stove. Lower the panel slowly when the
bottom clears the stove. Set panel aside for reinstallation.
2. To close the fuel shutoff gate manually for service,
press down on trigger mechanism.
(gate will close automatically in over-temp situations.)

3. To reset fuel shutoff, pull the looped steel cable out
away from the stove, while pushing up simultaneously
on the trigger. You will hear the gate click when it’s
locked in the open position.
4. Reinstall right side panel and air filter.

1. To unlock the firepot to dump the ashes into the ash pan,
lift up on the pull rod and pull the rod back towards you.

NEVER RESET FUEL GATE BY REACHING THROUGH
THE AIR CLEANER OPENING. THIS WILL DAMAGE THE
CABLE AND HINDER GATE OPERATION.
