Telephone Line Connection Options

If possible, connect your Internet Terminal to a telephone jack that isn't
connected to a telephone. If you have only one convenient telephone jack,
use the T Splitter to share the line. This will enable you to keep both the
Internet Terminal and your telephone plugged in at the same time. The T
Splitter must be plugged into the wall jack to operate properly.

If you don't have Call Waiting, a person trying to call you while you're
cormected to WebTV Plus Network receives a busy signal.

If you have Call Waiting, you can use the Line Share™ feature to
temporarily disconnect from the WebTV Plus Network when you receive
a call. For instructions on setting up Line Share, go to "Using WebTV" on
the Web Home page. The Line Share setting will allow your telephone to
ring so you can take the call the way you normally do. When you're
finished with the call, push the button on the remote control to
reconnect to the WebTV Plus Network. You will be reconnected to the
page you were visiting when the call came in.

You may find you don't want to be interrupted when you are on the
Internet. WebTV makes it easy for you to temporarily turn off Call
Waiting while you're connected. For information on disabling Call
Waiting, or on disconnecting from the WebTV Plus Network to make a

telephone call, see the on-screen help. If the telephones in your house are
generally busy, you might consider using a separate, or dedicated,
telephone line to access the WebTV Plus Network. Contact your local
telephone company to order a separate telephone line.

Do not connect to a "wireless" telephone extension. Since these devices typically do not
support high data rates, it may result in very slow operation, or may even prevent connection
with the WebTV pius Network.

The WebTV Plus Network has more than 1,000 local access points across
the country. However, due to distance, some access points may result in
long-distance charges. WebTV Networks, Inc. is continually adding local
access pciints. For more information about the one nearest to you, please
call 1-800-GO-WEBTV.

The WebTV Plus Network also has a program called OpenISP™ for users
who would like to use an Internet Service Provider (ISP) not affiliated
with the WebTV Plus Network, or to reduce on-line fees if you already
have an ISP account. For more information, select "Using WebTV" from

the Web Home page, then choose dialing options.
