Erasing Index Signals <
Unnecessary index signals can be erased.
Press INDEX once.
The INDEX and SCAN indicator blinks alternately.

Press •« REW or ►► FF.
The tape will be rewound or rapidly advanced.
Every time an index signal Is detected, the tape will
be played back and then rewound or advanced to
the next index signal.
Display window
When you reach the index signal you wish to
erase, press INDEX ERASE within approximately
10 seconds after you have verified the playback
picture.
The INDEX indicator blinks.
While the index signal Is being erased, the
recorded sound will not be heard, but it will not be
erased from the tape.

Notes
• Index signals marked on a portion of tape just before or after
the recording modes, SP and EP, are switched cannot be
erased.
• Index signals marked on an LP mode tape cannot be erased.
