About this Manual
Thank you for purchasing and using the Kontron M2M Smart Services Developer Kit.
This manual is for smart services developers who are responsible for using the developer kit. This document provides
a brief overview of the features of the system followed by a list of accessories or other components you may need or
want to purchase, instructions for how to add or replace components in the M2M System and troubleshooting
information.
Kontron would like to point out that the information contained in this manual may be subject to technical alteration,

Chapter 2 Product Description
The chapter provides a brief overview of the Kontron M2M Smart Services Developer Kit. In this chapter, you will find
a list of the features, illustrations of the product, and product diagrams to help you identify components and their
locations.
Chapter 3
Component Installation
The chapter provides
instructions for adding components such as antennas and the LiveUSB drive. Use this chapter
for step-by-step instructions and diagrams for installing components.
Chapter 4 Operating Guide
The chapter provides instructions for using the M2M System for software development. Utilities that are shipped with
the system or that may be required to update the system are covered. This includes how to navigate through the
BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) setup screens and how to perform BIOS updates.
Chapter 5 Drop-In PCI Express Mini Card Module Addition/Replacement
The chapter provides instructions for adding/replacing PCI Express cards and adding components such as the 3G
module. Use this chapter for step-by-step instructions and diagrams for installing or replacing components.
