5. Remove the SAS HDD backplane board and surrounding air baffle. For instructions, see “Removing

the Old SAS Backplane Board”.

6. Disconnect all of the cables that come from the PDB:


Disconnect the HDD backplane power connector. For the location, see Figure 54.

Disconnect the CPU1 and CPU2 power connectors. For instructions, see “Removing the CPU1 and
CPU2 Power Cables”.

Disconnect the main power connector on the baseboard. For the location, see Figure 7 (“W”)

Disconnect the fan control board power connector. For the location, see Figure 52 (“A”)

Disconnect any optional I/O devices connected to the auxiliary cable and remove the auxiliary I/O
connector/dongle from the PCI air baffle. For the location, see Figure 2, “I”.
The baffle is loose once the cross bar is removed. Tilt the baffle out from the groove in the chassis
wall that secures it and remove the auxiliary cable.

Disconnect the baseboard SSI power control cable from the baseboard. For the location, see Figure 7
(“V”)

7. Loosen the two screws that secure the PDB bracket to the chassis and save them for re-installing the

new PDB assembly. (Figure 56, “A”)

8. Gently pull the PDB and all its attached cables out of the chassis. (“B”)
